Low Band Landfill Tax Declaration

The Low Band Landfill Tax Declaration form must be completed for wastes where low band landfill tax can be applied. The description and content of the waste must fall under the Qualifying Order of Section 4.2 of the HMRC Excise Notice LFT1: A General Guide to Landfill Tax.

Group 2 does not include: 1. Glass fibre and glass-reinforced plastic. 2. Concrete plant washings.

GROUP 3 - Minerals processed or prepared, comprises only:

Moulding sands, including used foundry sand

Man made mineral fibres, including glass fibre
Silica
Mineral abrasives
Mineral absorbents
Mica

Group 3 does not include: 1. Moulding sand containing organic binders. 2. Man-made mineral fibres made from glass-reinforced plastic and asbestos.

GROUP 4 - Furnace slags, comprises only:

Choose from the following:

Vitrified wastes and residues from termal processing of minerals where. Ineither case, the residue is both fused and insoluble
Slag from waste incineration

GROUP 5 - Ash, comprises only:

Choose from the following:

Bottom ash and fly ash produced only from the combustion of wood, of waste or both
Bottom ash and fly ash from the combustion of coal, of petroleum coke or of both, deposited in a cell containing the product of that combustion alone
Bottom ash and fly ash from the combustion of coal, of petroleum coke or of both, burnt together with biomass and deposited in a cell containing the product of that combustion and burning alone

GROUP 6 - Low activity inorganic compounds, comprises only:

Choose from the following:

Calcium carbonate
Magnesium carbonate
Magnesium oxide
Magresium hydroxide
Iron oxide
Ferric hydroxide
Aluminium oxide
Aluminium hydroxide
Zirconium dioxide
Calcium based reaction wastes from Titanium Dioxide production

GROUP 7 - Calcium Sulphate, disposed of in landfills for non-hazardous wastes in a cell where no biodegradable waste is accepted - includes:

Choose from the following:

Calcium sulphate
Gypsum
Calcium sulphate based plasters

GROUP 8
